Joe Kearns

CO, Certified Orthotist

Joe Kearns began his career at R & J Prosthetic in 1985 as a technician while working on his practitioner certification. After attending school and taking his practicum exams, he was certified as a Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT). In 2001, Joe attained his American Board for Certification as a Certified Orthotist (CO). With over 30 years of experience in the O&P field, Joe has become the most experienced CO specializing in scoliosis, long-term fracture, CVA trauma, post-polio, Guillain-Barre, and sports/athletic bracing in Ventura/Oxnard. In addition, Joe has advanced certification with computer-controlled knee orthoses.

Daren Martin

Certified Fitter Therapeutic Shoes / Orthotic Technician

A lifelong resident of Simi Valley, Daren has always enjoyed being a mechanic, working with hands and dirt bike riding. In April of 2018 Daren was in an off road accident that left his leg severely damaged and had to be amputated below the knee. His first prosthesis was with a company near Los Angeles but it was incredibly uncomfortable. “I was dealing with limb wounds and pain from the poor fit and alignment” said Daren. Laurie Goff

Front Office Lead

Originally from Ojai, Laurie has called the Ventura coast her home her whole life. When R&J was acquired by Achilles Prosthetics and Orthotics, Laurie was promoted to lead the front office. Laurie enjoys art such as painting and drawing and keeps our plants alive! When not at the office Laurie is often found hiking with her dog Lu or spending time with her family.

Originally from Los Angeles, Stephanie came out to Ventura College and joined the R&J team. She wanted to learn about the medical field and loves helping patients and seeing them improve. When not at R&J or drawing, you will find her on small adventures or at the beach with her two daughters and their family dogs Mini and Teddy.
